Step 1 THE CUT FOR THE SQUARE
Fold your square fabric in 4. Measure the distance between your neck and your wrist and transfer this length (make a small mark) on the 2 sides with "folds". Then draw an arc and cut along the line.
Step 2 THE CUT FOR THE NECKLINE
According to the size of your head, cut a small arc (7 to 10 cm on each side) on the corner for the neckline.
Step 3 THE STRAIGHT CUT
Unfold your fabric and make a straight cut from the outside of the circle to the center.
Step 4 THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE CAPE
Wrap the cape around your shoulders and layer the fabric to find the perfect position in which you are comfortable. Pin it and remove it.
Step 5 THE BUTTONHOLES
Make two incisions on the fabric on top to mark the buttonhole about 3cm from the edge. Then sew the buttons directly onto the bottom fabric, making sure to match it with the buttonholes. Overcast the buttonholes.
Step 6 PLACE THE BIAS BINDING
Place the bias binding of your choice on the edges of the fabric. Pin the bias binding to hold it in place while sewing.
Step 7 CLOSURE OF THE COLLAR
Place two hook clips inside the cape at the collar to strengthen the closure.
And there you go! All you have to do is put on your cape :-)
