DIY - sew a cushion cover
The perfect decorative addition to embellish your living room or bedroom? Pretty pillows! I tought about this pretty design cushion cover for a 40x40cm cushion. I will show you how to sew it...
Material
I advise you choose upholstery fabrics that are thicker, more resistant and give a more noble and designer result.
- For the front :
1 fabric cloth of 45x45cm
1 fabric cloth of 20x45cm
1 fabric cloth of 30x45cm
- For the back
1 fabric cloth of 45x45cm
- For the extra touch
I added mini iron-on dots in glitter.
for the technique, I made this little cushion without a zipper and only with a blind stitch.
Step 1 : la face avant
Cut out all your fabric cloths. Then take the two small rectangles from the front side and fray a long side of more or less 1cm.
Take the three fabric cloths “front side” and superimpose them like this on the right side :
Fold and iron the top piece over 0.5m (the opposite side to the one you frayed) and make a small seam all along to secure it.
Step 2 : assemble the cushion
Then place the back side on the front side, right sides together, and pin everything. Sew around the edge, leaving an opening of 10cm of opening. Turn it over.
Put (if you wish) your mini iron-on glitter patches using the iron without steam.
It's time to put your cushion back in its cover, that you close with a blind stitch. That's it!
See you soon,
L.
