Buffalo head cushion

New idea: the decorative cushion! Something to give a modern and vitamin touch to your interior. Make cushions in the shape of wild animal heads and cover them with your favorite ethnic patterns. I present to you my buffalo head that I named "Walter":

To make your decoration cushion :

• Choice of fabrics - cloth with a height of 80cm

I first chose fabrics with a wax / ethnic spirit then I broke it down in several versions :-) You can combine several colors and patterns to personalize your cushion. Find your happiness among the printed cottons on the Chien Vert eShop.

• Synthetic flling

Step 1 : Trace and cut the shapes

Start by drawing your shape and then transfer it to pattern paper according to the size you want. If you like my buffalo head, here is the pattern to download in A4 format. All you have to do is print without margins and stitch the sheets together. For info, my cushion has a heigth of 60cm with a width of a 45cm wide.

Pin the pattern on your fabric then cut out the pieces. For the front side, allow a margin of 1.5cm. I used several fabrics for side A and only one for side B. You are free to imagine and combine the colors & patterns as you wish ;-)

Step 2 : Assemble the pieces

Start by sewing the different pieces that make up the front side (A). Then place the back side (B) on the front side, right sides together. You will probably need to cut side A to get the same dimension as side B.

Pin and sew the circumference, leaving an opening of 10cm to pass the padding. Do not forget to notch the corners and round parts then turn the work over.

Step 3 : the filling

All you have to do is fill your pillow until your head is plumpy. Close with an blind point and you're done !
