This time I had the idea of sewing a unisex case for her / for him: the cubic case is elegant and practical for storing small items.
For him :
For her :
Here's the tutorial:
Material needed to make your cubic case:
Materials to be chosen by the future owner. Classic or coated cotton will be perfect for the lining. When finished, my case measures 20cm long, 13cm wide and 10cm high.
- a piece of 40x55cm fabric for the exterior
- a piece of 40x55cm fabric for the lining
I chose a coated cotton - pratical to remove traces of make-up or other products...
- 1 zipper of 35cm
- 1 pair of scissors
- pins
- a piece of strap 15cm
- the sewing pattern below
Step 1 : cut out the shapes
Trace and cut the shapes as shown: 1X in the lining AND 1X in the fabric for the exterior. Prepare your strap and zipper.
Step 2 : the zipper
Place the zipper on the outside of the 2 ends.
Step 3 : assemble the central part
Lay the piece right sides together with the zipper in the center. Overlap the identical pieces and pin it in place.
Stitch the 2 sides together. ["Hello kitty!"]
Next, form the angles that will create the thickness: pinch in 2 on one side to insert the piece of strap, pin to hold everything together and sew.
The exterior of the men's case is finished.
Step 4 : the lining
Start by placing the lining pieces through the zipper and repeat the same operation as for the outside, but be careful: leave one side open AND, above all, leave the zipper open to turn the whole thing inside out at the end.
All you have to do is turn it over, close it and it's done.
My cubic case is ready !
