DIY - my sweet heart in fabric
My sweet heart: here's how to make a pretty giant heart in fabric that you can place at the foot of your bed or use to decorate a child's bedroom.
How to sew my fabric heart
This pattern measures x CM. Would you like to sew the same one? Good news: you can download this pattern free of charge in PDF format.
Material:
- piece of fabric of 1.2M wadding 200g/M
- Embroidery thread
- 2 pieces of fabric 1.2M pain red/pink cotton of your choice for each side of the heart.
The steps to make it
Cut 2 x the heart shape from the fabric and 1 x from the wadding.
Place the 2 fabrics right sides together on the wadding and sew around the edge, 1cm from the edge. Be sure to leave a 15cm opening so you can turn the fabric inside out.
Turn your heart over, taking 1 layer of fabric on one side, and the fabric with the wadding on the other. Of course, the wadding must be on the inside. Iron (not too hot for the wadding) and close the opening with an invisible stitch.
Use your embroidery thread to make a scalloped stitch around the edge. You can also add piping or a pretty bias... The choices are endless, but plan ahead ;-)
Your giant heart is ready to decorate your room! It can also be used as a play mat by adding snaps, or as a learning mat for your children...
See you soon,
L.
